Interesting article...

http://www.roadracerx.com/article.php?article_id=845

Moral of the story?

Scooters rock...everyone should get one!

Here's a little more info on the Ride to Work Day. Pretty cool stuff there, including a letter to send to your mayor to help out the cause.

I have complained to the ride to work day people for years. Running it in the summer excludes all of the teachers that could ride to work. Oh well, its stupid anyway because I ride to work anyday thats dry and not frozen.

Proud that this year I can once again say, 'every day is ride to work day' for me. Even when it isn't dry.

But the article brings up some of those arguments that drive me crazy when I think about how they are being ignored.

The politicians make a big deal out of "demanding" 35 mpg in five years time (or something weak like that) and the auto industry complains about it...

All the while we could solve all of our problems if most people switched to scooters. And why doesn't one of the politicans come out and say, "You know what? There is a way you can get 40+ mpg from a vehicle that is faster than a Ferrari..." Make it obvious for the average idiot to understand.

Also good that the article brings up the traffic/congestion/parking benefits of bikes that are also widely ignored. Ok, I'm getting pi$$ed again.

Looks like a fun little scooter...but I have to ask...

Where is it made / Who makes it? There's a lot of cheap-o stuff out there that'll just fall apart after awhile.

Well, sold by Genuine Scooter Co, but it's just a rebadged PGO. PGO used to make some of the Piaggio stuff back in the day.

Nice, nothing like ripping off someone's design wholesale.

I don't know if Piaggio has any trademarks on that design, but hopefully they do and they put that $hitbag operation straight out of business.

Your "genuine rattler" is a stolen design as well.

It is one thing to copy someone's idea(like Suzuki did with the Ducati Monster)... it is another to make the exact same thing.

lol it's amazing how you came to that conclusion. I'm sure there's some license agreement between the companies or someone would've gone and sued.

You'd think so...

For comparisons sake

and

With the exception of smaller headlights on the PGO, I'd say they are pretty much exactly the same thing.

I mentioned it's a rebadged bike - even the owner's manual says PGO
