Formula One teams are so reluctant to be seen with Max Mosley that they are reportedly considering hiring 'paddock spotters' to warn them of his movements if, as expected, the disgraced FIA President appears at the forthcoming Monaco GP......

What are they going to do when there "spotter" tells them he's coming their way? Run?

They will be warned by the spotters just in time for them to turn their backs away from any cameras that may capture them in the same frame, pretending to be busy with other duties. gulp

If this were not so ridiculous it would border upon being a real farce; something which I suspect Bernie may finally frown upon. Has the reputation of the sport been sullied enough by Max's tenacious refusal to go?

I have a feeling the press is whipping up a froth and very few others care. You have to admit though, Max's got some cojones to makes his reappearance at F1's highest profile event...

PS: I still find this less embarrassing to the sport than Coulthard wearing the Superman cape on the podium.

How hard would it be to implant a GPS device in Mad Max? The teams are clever and technology-savvy; they should be able to some up with some way of pinpointing his location at all times. Maybe they could hire a hooker to give him an enema (he'd like that, I bet) who could tag him.

He's going to look pretty foolish walking around the paddock all alone with everybody ducking him.

The source of this story is Ed Gorman's blog for The Times. He is just a mouthpiece for Rupert Murdoch's newspapers who must be required by his bosses to keep the Mosley story in the news on a near daily basis. Keeping in mind who he writes for, Gorman's perspective and believability on the scope and nature of the teams' efforts to avoid Mosley has to be seriously questioned.

And you're talking on a forum owned by Rupert Murdoch's news corporation.

Max lives in Monaco so he's not going out of his way to attend the race IMO.

Uhm, yeah. The superman gig was lame. Kimi's gorilla suit was even less embarrassing than that.
All the media froth whipping would just go away if folk weren't titillated by the story. The *ONLY* reason that this is news is that people have too little excitement in their lives. It's none of their business, neither the press nor the folk that are buying it. If they left it alone, it'd be a slightly comical historical story by now. It's the blue-crab feeding frenzy of the sensationalist media, bordering on criminal. Anyone that let's them get away with it shares liability.
