Dear Speed TV crew,
Just wanted to drop you a quick note to say hello and pass on a link to a few 'interesting' photos from this past weekends FIA GT championship at Silverstone.
For those of you who don't know me I am a racing driver from Texas and I recently moved to the UK to pursue motorsport at the highest level. In the mean time I am doing my best to get emmersed in the sport in everyway possible, this weekend I turned up at Silverstone.
To keep my friends and family updated on my status I have been keeping an online diary so I don't have to repeat the same stories 10,000 times (assuming I had 10,000 friends). This particular weekend I was able to capture a few choice shots of the Ferrari challenge series and wrote about the brilliance of the series sponsor Black and Decker.

Hope you are all doing well and you enjoyed the Long Beach race. I am looking forward to seeing it when we get the tape delay here in the UK.
Cheers
Michael

Good Luck at everything. If you know of a team that needs an engineering intern i'd be more than willing if the right offer came around.

Hey Wedge,
There are unbelieveable opportunities in the British motor racing scene. If you were to turn up in the off-season with a clip board and a spanner set I don't think you would have any trouble finding an internship with a team. You might start pushing a broom a bit and cleaning things, but this is very much a performance rewarded world and the sky is the limit.
Plus because there are SOOOO many racing teams in the UK, if the first one turns you down it would only be a block or two to find the next racing team.
Thanks for the note!
Cheers

I e-mailed many raceteams in the U.S. and got shut down by many of them. I e-mailed lola and arena motorsports and it was the usual story. I'll be lookin' for something next summer for sure. My goal is to be working for a race tream for the summer of 2009. I'll be lookin' at british teams for sure. Thanks for the insite.

Michael,
You write well. Thanks for the story. If the racing thing doesn't work out, maybe a motorsports journalist job will.
