If Jonathan can relax, then he may have a guaranteed victory. Jonathan
Summerton has made the front row for the 1st time qualifying 2 right next to Polesitter Switzerland's Neel Jani in the feature while he has to start 6th in the sprint.

Jani is definitely the cream of the the crop much like how Hulkenburg was last year.

I'm happy for Summerton sine Team USA isn't quite one of the elites in the A1GP series. I remember the days where Summerton ran Euro F3 and I watched him closely but too bad it seems he'll never accomplish his goals of F1. Maybe he'll give AOW a chance now that its united.

Back in 2006, he had a few podiums including his lone victory in the final round.
Finished 2nd in the rookie standings behind Kaumi Kobayashi. Something will
come along for the soon to be 20-year old.

Great job by Summerton to win the race in Shangai. Its been a great couple weeks for Americans in open wheel and I hope both Graham and Jon well keep this up. I know Jon wants to keep in the "world" open wheels series like F3 and A1GP but I really do hope he well consider AOW. I know he had some tryouts but to have someone of his credentials in AOW well be awesome.

He did had tryouts for the Atlantic Series this past February. There is 1 more round and he is very familiar with Brands Hatch since
he ran the F3 Euro Series in 2006. I can see him coming back
for 1/2 of the season in the Euro Series. If Jonathan gives it all
for the next season, then GP2 scouts will evaluate his potential
for a test drive in a GP2 machine.

Of course Charlie Kimball might become the next driver for the team
USA driver if Summerton departs.

Any thoughts once Summerton leaves team USA on the next potential
drivers besides Kimball?

I hope so but it seems GP2 is all about connections, last names, and bank accounts. Look at all the filmilar last names that came through GP2 and guys like Hamilton who have tons of money backing him up. True Speed came through GP2 but I believe there is a large stereotype on US drivers and why they would make it to F1. Speed was always seen as rough, immature, and ignorant which I feel is a reflection of the demographics which F1 mostly takes part in (Asia/Europe).

As I posted before even Peter Windsor on SPEED and F1 Magazine said Speed suffered unfairly and some of it was due to his nationality.

I know Buddy loves A1GP. I know everyone would love to see Graham Rahal or Hunter-Reay to race a couple times before the Indycar season begins. Didn't Rahal race for team Lebanon before though? I wouldn't be surprised if Kimball does well in F3 that he'll look for a seat in GP2.

Your are right on the money. Newman Wachs has sign Summerton and he will go to Long Beach.

Speed might have been marginalized but all you have to do is dominate and nobody will ask silly questions.

I hope Summerton does well enough in lower ranks to be invited to a solid team in F1, we haven't had a presents in F1 that was in a competitive car for a very, very long time and that's why were are mainly indifferent to F1 besides being held on a roval...
