ITTAWSC2: Round 9-Daytona International Speedway.

Daytona Bike Week is a major event on the calendar for all riders to come and enjoy the festivities including the Daytona International Speedway where forty superbikes will be racing around the 3.65 mile road course. Wotan is the pole sitter for this Daytona Superbike race and Speeddemon787 missed the pole time by two thousandths of second followed by previous superbike winner Armco who had a scary practice accident at the bus stop chicane when his bike lost the rear tire and flipped sending him tumbling onto the pavement. Armco was ok but his bike was destroyed but his crew took out the new bike and got him in the first row despite having bruised ribs. The warm ups began as all the bikes getting off pit lane going into the road course portion at the World Center of Speed and everyone got into their grid position on pit road for the start. Every rider lined up for the start as the last ITTAWSC official got off the grid as the 1000cc engines began to rev loudly for the green. The starter turned on the red light and turned green as forty superbike riders took off into turn one as Speeddemon787 launched into the lead while Formulaefan took second going into the bend but Wotan fought back and took back a position for second as the bikes heading off turn 6 into Nascar one.

Uh Oh, rookie rider NoTreadleft couldn’t get off the line and parked it in the infield grass out of the race due to the electronic clutch being fried. While on the racetrack, Formulaefan drafted Speeddemon787 and took the lead going out of the the bus stop chicane onto Nascar three but Speeddemon787, Wotan and Formulaefan were three wide joining the draft was Breaker, Pickle, McLola and Penske 14 crossing the start/finishline with six bikes going into turn one. Six bikes turned to ten bikes in the draft as the top four leaders trade leads for eight laps. On lap 12, HugeWally took a big tumble on the bend after losing the front end into the grass but got up ok as the track marshals attended to him and also put the bike behind the barrier. Formulaefan took the lead again on lap 15 drafted off behind Speeddemon787 coming off Nascar four and Breaker take second as he tucked in behind the leader. Breaker took the lead from Formulaefan going into turn 2. Indyfan2 had to pit on lap 20 for tires and fuel as the crew looked at the tire wear. Formulaefan, Speeddemon787 and Wotan pit also as Indyfan2 left the pits with fresh tires and a full tank of fuel as Breaker continued to lead the race. Breaker came into the pits three laps later for fresh tires and fuel but Indyfan2’s crew looked worry as the tires they took off is worn to the cord.

As everyone got their pitstops in, the leader was Speeddemon787 followed Breaker, Formulaefan and Armco side by side. Halfway through the race and Breaker took the lead again blowing by Speeddemon787 on Nascar one and two as the race will have a potential record number of lead changes. Teammate Formulaefan radioed: "Hey Indyfan2 you better ride harder, i'm trying to catch my Championship Contender."

Speaking to Teammate Formulaefan: "I'll ride harder and harder till I reach you." :wink:

CC to LittleAlguy: We'll put a softer compound tire on the front in the final pitstop. We'll get a good finish.
