Hey Rich, How about some real, old school driving grudge matches. No two step, just a shaky left foot, no air shifters, just a sweaty palm hoping to nail that 2-3 shift. That earned 10 or 11 sec win is more exciting than watching "who has more money" runs.
And maybe use non- sponsored average Joes rather than the local shop owners kids?
Love the concept, but need to get back to the spirit of grudge racing.
I'm talking about BMW, Mercedes, Audi, etc.........I would love to see American vs. European. Americans have been dragging for years, so you'd think they'd have the advantage. But I've seen some footage and experienced some races, and I would bet my $$Dollars$$ on European car engineering.

When I grew up, racing for pinks was for registered street legal cars. I still believe in that.
My opinion, all cars racing on Pinks should be registered with the local DMV and be street legal.
It was all about sleeper looking cars that could run in the 11.00's and still be road worthy.
I was one of them. It was 1981 and I had my first real car, a 1970 Chevelle. I rebuilt a 454 and
a turbo 350 trans, put a posi into the 10 bolt and went racing. The late night runs were a ton of fun.
I won numerous times, all for $. The race I blew my motor, I was racing a guy 4 years older than
me with a 1969 Pontiac Lemans with a 455, tunnel rammed and built to the nuts. I lost when I shifted
into second and the rear tires started spinning and the car went sideways. I scared the crap out of myself
and my opponent. Needless to say, I over revved the engine and blew a valve into the head. A Biopsy showed
heavy trauma to the valves a few pistons and a couple of broken rocker arms. It was awesome...
Keep the races real. Keep them street legal and keep them registered. It's where Pinks began...

I would like to see some big trucks (Freightliners, Kenworths, or Pete's). I don't know if there is anyone out there that races them. I love to see those big trucks howl when they are full out. If any one is interested I might be able to get one together in about 6 weeks. Those things are not the easiest things to work on.
