I just looked at the program schedule for the coverage of the Petit Le Mans @ Road Atlanta on Oct. 4th, only to be DISGUSTED by what I saw. Of course I will be there, but for those that aren't, they are getting a raw deal. Coverage goes from the start at 11:00 to 1:00. Then goes away for Sprint Cup Qually, NCTS Setup, then a NCTS Race. Then Petit back on from 6:30 to the end. I just can't believe for a race with this significance, that comes only once a year, that they are skimping on the coverage this much!! Rediculous!!

I love watching both Indycar and ALMS and to have both of them come to one place on the same weekend is something else. As some have reported though the ALMS officials feel that they sometimes take a second seat to Indycar and some have even debated that by running with Indycar it proves that people still do see them as such. Whether this is true is not is open to debate but I sure don't see the ALMS as being second to anyone. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way and I even think Indycar doesn't think so either since some team names from ALMS are the same teams from Indycar and they try equally hard to win each series IMO.

The Indycar/ALMS weekend is a stroke of genius and I hope that neither Indycar or ALMS doesn't ruin this for the fans because of pride. Heck I think running them together helps both series as proof in places like Mid-Ohio and Road America when CART/Champ Car ran there. So please don't let big heads rule...please....

I should also add Grand Am to this because I believe there was Grand Am/Indycar weekend at Sear Point. I have to admit I am partial to ALMS that's why I mentioned ALMS/Indycar combo but I don't dislike Grand Am either - actually I love their GT battles, very fun.

This has been my first complete season that I followed the ALMS. I must say, it rules! I have been an F1 for 10 years and that is my sport. Mika Hakkinen Rules, I named my daughter after him! But, I must say, ALMS has been a little more exciting this year! I love the Acura Teams( I drive an Acura), Audi R10 sounds so awesome in Person and the C6-R is awesome in person. I know that F1 is not coming back to the US,I'm ok with that. I have an ALMS race in Long Beach down the street from me and Laguna Seca. Bottom line, ALMS is pretty sweet.

What do you guys think? Would this be a good idea for GM since the Mustang competes in the series and that is the Camaro's direct selling competition? As a future buyer of a 2010 Camaro SS I think it would be a great idea for them because the Camaro will probably have a larger target audience due to the price of the CTS-V.

I was watching Indycar qualifying and watched safety crews take cars off course in a matter of which allowed qualifying to continue in less then 5 mins (well a short time). Watching the ALMS race some races and here were are waiting for nearly 15 mins while they take a car off course. Why are ALMS cautions so long? I know the Audi hit the tire wall hard but it seems that even something as easy as a dead car on course takes equally just as long for the crews to get that car out of danger's way. Maybe ALMS officials needs to take a chapter from Indycar or are they all the same safety crew?

Has anybody else here been contacted by the Grand-Am website and asked to take a survey?
There is a very disturbing line of questions regarding the possibility and apparently
immenent takeover of GA by NASCAR. I know that there is already a strong NASCAR presence
in GA but to officially have GA under the NASCAR umbrella would be a very bad thing IMO.

I know that team tactics and orders are SOP in racing but Penske has been particularly blatant about it lately. They're starting to remind me of Ferrari (okay, maybe not that bad).
