what a coincidence. The British gutter press is about to blame Alonso.

Hamilton robbed in Spain
Monday 18th August 2008

Lewis Hamilton was robbed outside a Spanish hotel this past weekend as himself and his girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger checked out.

The duo, who were in town while Scherzinger performed a concert in the city, left the five-star Malaga Palacio hotel on Sunday.

As they checked out, though, two men snatched a rucksack and a leather holdall containing an iPod from the boot of the couple's Mercedes, forcing their bodyguards to give chase.

However, an onlooker told The People that "the thieves dropped the rucksack but got away."
From the recent article in the Speed F1 news section about representitives from F1 approving the lighting for the upcoming Singapore night race. "Work on fully installing the system, which provides brightness suitable for F1's high-definition broadcasts, is currently taking place." Have we not been repeatedly told that F1 is not being broadcast in Hi Def? And that Bernie prefers to place priority on provinding the bradcast in SD wide format?

McLaren-Mercedes team principal Ron Dennis argues Fernando Alonso is the only driver to have ever complained about a lack of equality at the multiple F1 World Championship-winning squad - insisting Heikki Kovalainen is not under any team orders.
Ron Dennis has reacted angrily to claims from former McLaren-Mercedes star Fernando Alonso that Heikki Kovalainen has been cast into a supporting role at the team in 2008 – insisting that ‘only one' driver has ever hinted at a lack of equality within the squad.

Alonso walked away from the Woking-based outfit at the end of 2007 – two years before his three-year contract was due to expire – after complaining for much of the season that team-mate Lewis Hamilton was receiving preferential treatment.

He has now backed up those comments by suggesting his successor Kovalainen was told to move aside for Hamilton at Hockenheim two weeks' ago, adding that had he himself remained at the multiple world championship-winning concern this year, he would have had just as little chance of being permitted to win as his underperforming Renault currently allows him

Speaking in Budapest twelve months on, Dennis insisted that ‘only one' former driver had ever complained about a lack of equality, and suggested that in his renewed criticism the Spaniard may have transgressed the terms of his termination agreement with the squad.

Assuming team cars are equally matched, one would think the team driver standings would line up if their skills were equal. Talking with neighbours about this last night, a few were saying you can never judge a strong or weak driver by that.

Looking at the current standings above, I'm not so sure.

Food for thought.

Cheers
