Meet the T.27. In concept phase, but already only 600kg!
...I admit I was duped the same way I BSed the topic name. Actually, you could completely write a journalistic article based on the text in there and deliberately get it all wrong. The prototype meets minimum weight, McLaren designers quote "It's all about efficiency and being lightweight"; "designed to absorb energy". Sadly, he means the crash structure and not because he's borrowing the McLaren KERS or something actually cool.

Maybe I'll go add this to McLaren F1's Wikipedia article. It would be factually correct! T.27, I declare your official name to be "McLaren 60mph armored golfcart"

McLaren insists it operates without a driver hierarchy, but Kovalainen, 27, painted a different picture in conversation with the Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat.

"It was always difficult to accept that Lewis was always the first to receive the new parts.

"I have never wanted to make a big deal about it, but it would have been nice to just once had the new parts on my car, particularly after we lost the chance of winning the championship," he said.

"I could have complained publicly but instead wanted to show the team that I always give maximum effort with the car that I have, and I think they realise that."

Kovalainen also alleges that he has not enjoyed equal status in terms of race strategies.

"Every time this season when Hamilton and I are in the third part (Q3) of qualifying, I had to do it with more fuel. If you take into account the quantities of fuel, I would have had pole position several times," he insists.

Kovalainen admits his performances at times this season could have been better, but does not rule out staying at McLaren in 2010.

"I am 100 per cent sure that McLaren has not yet made a decision. We'll see what they do," he said.

I feel for Kovy, but what was he expecting when he joined McLaren? He should have known that he was joining Hammy's team. Plus, someone in the team will get the new parts first, and someone will get the "optimal" fuel strategy. It might as well be the better driver (or at least the perceived better driver), which in this case, IMO, the better driver would be Hammy.

This has been bothering me all season so here comes my therapy...

As a fan of the Maranello gang I am deeply disturbed by their actions of late. I was just speaking with my better half and saying it out loud really opened my eyes to the denial I was in. Quite simply I think Ferrari is doomed by signing FA. I can not see his attitude improving from his past actions at McLaren and Renault.

I really want to continue to be a fan but the fact is that FA is the dog that eventually turns on his owner. Sooner or later he will bite Ferrari and they will be stuck looking for a good driver with a better attitude.

It is a shame they have given up on Kimi like they have. Kimi took a dog of a car and raced til the bitter end. Even after SF abandon him. does anyone think FA would do that? There is no way I can see that. There is no way I can see FA playing well with Massa. Once the trouble starts what will Ferrari do? I see a return to the dark years.

Ok done venting, Good luck Ferrari but I think I'll be changing camps soon, I guess I really have become part of the Formula1 culture, I'll become a fan of the team willing to pay me the most and have no allegiance to any team or driver.

Some of you guys may already know about this site but I just discovered it. I have been going to this site to watch world cup qualifying, NFL and MLB, and stumbled across F1. It is a live feed from...I don't know where, of Classic F1 races. I have already seen the 1980 Monaco GP, and a bunch others the past few days. I thought you guys might like to check it out.
Having been an F1 fan for more years then I care to admit; I recall the days before cable when the only way to watch it was on ABC Wide World of Sports - and then it was on a B&W;TV at my house.

Today I watch it on a 52" 1180P screen with Dolby. When the say "turn it up".....

I get ready by running about 100 laps or so on a race sim the week or two before. I was never a gamer in the past, but a racin-bud of mine turned me on to that about a year ago, and I'm hooked.

Looking back the difference between the B&W;screen and 52" HD didn't make nearly the difference that having laps in a Race Sim with an F1 car at the same track does.

So how do you prepare for an F1 race?

Kimi Raikkonen stands to make more money in 2010 if he takes a sabbatical. Germany's Auto Motor und Sport reports that if the Finn accepts McLaren's current offer, he will earn €15m in 2010, as opposed to €17m if he has a season on the sidelines.

According to his termination deal with Ferrari, the Italian team has promised to pay Raikkonen ?17m if he does not race in F1 next year, and ?10m if he finds suitable employment elsewhere.

Realising this, McLaren has reportedly offered Raikkonen just 5 million for the 2010 seat, concluding that ?15m in total earnings is a very healthy amount for the 2007 world champion.
Yeah, I'll eat crow on this one. I said that Fisi would be leaps and bounds above Luca, maybe even help the Scuderia score some points. Fisi is just as bad as Luca was, but I don't think it is a reflection on the driver. The F60 is just a poor car. The media, who mercilessly bashed Luca, has seemingly cut Fisi some slack and instead turned their disdain towards the car.
