Among the automotive faithful, it is the place to be during the month of January. And lest that be construed as hype, on New Year's Day alone, Barrett-Jackson's website drew more than 14 million visitors. This year, for the first time, all of Detroit's Big Three automakers will have a presence at the event, as will Porsche.

The real stars of the show, of course, are the cars. From 2004 to 2006, sales at Barrett-Jackson exploded from $38.5 million to $98.8 million, and this year's lineup of cars is stronger than ever, loaded with every imaginable variant of muscle cars, concept cars and classics from America, Europe and the world.

Among the 1,200 cars at Barrett-Jackson, all of which will be sold at no reserve, some of this year's most intriguing include Carroll Shelby's personal Cobra, the first 2007 Shelby GT ever built, a 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Seville in which its owner was found murdered and a matching pair of 1954 Dodge Firearrow concept cars. There will be more than 120 Corvettes going across the block at Barrett-Jackson this week, including the last 1967 ever built.

This year,
SPEED will provide 40 hours of live televised coverage and there will be loads of daily updates on SPEEDTV.com: Daily auction roundups, features about some of the fascinating stories at the auction and galleries of photos from the heart of the action. We will be there to capture the sights, sounds and passion that are Barrett-Jackson.

Be sure to check SPEEDTV.com frequently for updates and tune in to SPEED for 40 hours of live coverage from The 36th Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Event. The cars start rolling on the block Tuesday and we'll be there to bring it to you.
