Less than a week to go and we will be speeding off of the start line in Baja Mexico! The guys spent the day tweaking the buggy and getting very acquainted with each other. I could not have asked for more of a dedicated crew! I spent the majority of the day answering a ton of emails from this past week…I want to say thanks for all of the fan support…awesome!
Adrienne “Editor” and Catherine “camera-lady” arrive in LA tomorrow to start filming our daily video blogs and prep for the trip down south.
Make sure to stay tuned to SPEEDtv.com for the latest and the greatest going-ons with my Baja 500 2008 race!

What a day at the shop! The team is really coming together and one would think that we have worked together for years. The crew worked hard today taking care of all of the fine details that it takes to pass tech inspection and prepare for such an event. We will get another chance at tech once we get to Mexico. Dickey created a “Dickey Do” list and DJ continued to plug away at the mechanics of the buggy as well as check off completed items on the list. We should be in good shape for the trip to Mexico and will be loading up to head that way by Thursday. As we work, we continue to discuss different pitting strategies, pre-run options and other related topics.
We finally stopped work at 2 am and decided to grab a good meal at the local café before heading to bed. We will be up at the crack of dawn to attack it again. It has been a relief to have such a

Late night. Always more to do than ya think. Been to Home Depot 10 or 20 times. Funny how many times ya say to yourself, “That’s the last trip today.” Anyway . . . since it was Memorial Day today, the local hardware store was closed. That means I have to be there when they open tomorrow. Things are going well, and the whirlwind is about to start.
I’m out !!

Tired, Tired, but excited to get the BT Racing buggy down to Mexico to see the green flag drop. I could not ask for a better group of guys to work with. We have had a good time at the shop poking fun and playing pranks on each other. After giving the mechanics another once over Emory and I focused on the new shocks that we are installing on the buggy. The technology that goes into Off-Road shocks is great. It is quite the experience to learn the different types of Off-Road set-ups and how they compare with our road course set-ups.
The motor seems to be high and tight and tomorrow we attack the Dickey-Do list which I know is going to be very long but nevertheless we will have that done and off to Baja by Thursday. Once we get to Ensenada we get to see all of our hard work payoff. Racing is certainly not for the faint of heart with the long hours and bloody knuckles….but it is my life! This is what I do. Sleepy time!!
