SCCA Pro Racing has announced that a Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course date will complete the 11-event SPEED World Challenge scheduleon the weekend of July 20-22. The series teams-up with the Indy Racing League and the American Le Mans Series for the Honda 200 /Acura Sportscar Challenge weekend. It will be the 10th visit in series history to the classic road-racing circuit.

The SPEED World Challenge season kicked off last week at the 55th Annual Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring. Both the SPEED Touring Car and SPEED GT races lucked-out by missing the heavy rain that hammered the track on race day. Jeff Altenburg, of Ellicott City, Md., won the SPEED Touring Car race from pole in his No. 72 Mazdaspeed Motorsports Development Mazda 6 and Eric Curran, of East Hampton, Mass., won his first-career SPEED GT race in the No. 30 Whelen Engineering Chevrolet Corvette C6.

Next up on the schedule is a SPEED GT-only event, the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. SPEED GT cars will share the streets of Long Beach with the Champ Car World Series and ALMS, April 13-15, for another weekend overflowing with the best racing in North America.

The SPEED GT and SPEED Touring Cars reunite May 17-19 at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah. After a successful inaugural race last year, SPEED World Challenge returns with ALMS for the Utah Grand Prix.

Less than a week later the SPEED GT cars will be in Charlotte, N.C., joining NASCAR for the Coca-Cola 600 at Lowe's Motor Speedway. SPEED GT teams will practice, qualify and race all on OTC Pole Night Thursday, May 24. Naturally one of the Nextel Cup drivers couldn't resist jumping into a SPEED GT car; tune in to see what happens when 2006 Nextel Cup Champion Jimmie Johnson climbs behind the wheel of a Cadillac CTS-V.

While the SPEED GT cars tackle the banks of Lowe's Motor Speedway, the SPEED Touring Cars will
be on their way to Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Conn. They will join the Grand-American series for the SPEED Touring Car Classic, May 25-28. It will be the series' 14th visit to the historic New England track.

Neither class will have to go very far for the next event, June 8-10 at Watkins Glen International, in Watkins Glen, N.Y. SPEED World Challenge hasn't been to The Glen since 1998, so it's only fitting that fans should be treated to a SPEED Touring Car doubleheader. That puts three SPEED World Challenge races on the weekend schedule for the Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen with Grand-Am.

The series next heads north of the border to Toronto, Ont., July 6-8, for the Grand Prix of Toronto. There, SPEED World Challenge will join Champ Car for the first time in series history on the streets of Exhibition Place.

Following a quick dip back into the U.S. for the previously mentioned event at Mid-Ohio, the series heads back to Canada. For the 17th time in series history, SPEED World Challenge will roll into Bowmanville, Ont., for the Grand Prix of Mosport. The series will join ALMS at Mosport International Raceway, which has swapped its traditional Labour Day weekend for an earlier August 24-26 date.

Another track with a long World Challenge past is Road Atlanta, where the series meets up again with ALMS for the 10th Anniversary Petit Le Mans. The rumble of sports cars is set to echo through the Braselton, Ga. track October 3-5.

Just as a Sebring opener has become a tradition in SPEED World Challenge, so has a Monterey, Calif., season finale. SPEED World Challenge will join ALMS at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for the Monterey Sports Car Championships, October 19-21. It will be the 10th event in series history at the popular California track.

All 2007 SPEED World Challenge races will be broadcast on SPEED Channel.
