The Contract Recognition Board has been called into action to solve a conflict between BMW Sauber and Toyota regarding Timo Glock's 2008 services, the strongest hint yet that the German will be tabbed to race for the Japanese-owned team in 2008.
Glock, the 2007 GP2 Series champion, is contracted to be BMW Sauber's tester until the end of the year. It is believed that Toyota's hiring of the German generated a conflict with his current BMW deal, and the matter was sent to the CRB to be decided.
According to autosport.com, the CRB has ruled in favor of Toyota, freeing up Glock's services for '08. Although the deal has yet to be announced officially, BMW confirmed the German's departure.
"Timo Glock will no longer be driving for the BMW Sauber F1 team next year," said BMW motorsport director Mario Theissen. "We have offered him the position of test driver in our team but he has been given the opportunity to race for another team.
"We wish Timo every success in his future F1 career."
Jarno Trulli is contracted to the other Toyota cockpit for next season.
