F1: Trulli Tops Silverstone Test Day 2

All Formula 1 teams bar Honda and Super Aguri, which are working at Jerez in Spain, carried on testing this Wednesday at the Silverstone circuit in England.

As had been the case yesterday, Toyota once again topped the timesheets, this time with Jarno Trulli after Ralf Schumacher set the fastest lap on Tuesday. The Italian posted a quickest time of 1:21.420 as intermittent rain troubled the squads' work. Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen was Trulli's nearest chaser, 0.1sec behind and nearly 0.4sec ahead of Williams' Alex Wurz. McLaren tester Pedro de la Rosa and Renault's Heikki Kovalainen rounded out the top-five among the nine-car field – per 2007 regulations, teams are only allowed to run one car in homologated test days.

"In general it was a positive day even though it's difficult to judge comparative performance because it's always very windy here," Trulli said. "The morning went pretty well for us testing set-up and tires and I felt pretty comfortable with the car.

"Then we changed the suspension settings so we lost some time around the lunch break. After the rain in the afternoon we only had about a half an hour more of meaningful work. But this was just typical of the problems
that we can face during testing. Overall the running I have been able to complete has been good so I would say that we are in reasonable shape here."
