Nick Heidfeld says that BMW hasn't really shown it true performance in Monaco thus far. Heidfeld was third in the morning session, but was a lowly 14th in the afternoon after suffering technical problems.
Meanwhile Robert Kubica was fastest at one point in the afternoon session, but dropped down to seventh as others ran in qualifying trim towards the end.
"It was a reasonable day," Heidfeld told SPEEDtv.com "As usual it's important here in Monaco to do a lot of laps to get used to the circuit. All of the second session I had a problem with the fuel pressure, but at least I could stay out and drive."
Heidfeld says he doesn't expect the likes of Toyota and Renault to be a threat to BMW's regular third row slot in qualifying, despite their apparent pace on Thursday: "At the moment I think it should be similar to the first four races."
The German said that the team was happy with the performance of the Bridgestones.

"I don't want to give too much away. First of all I was surprised that they worked straight away, on a green circuit. The harder tIres were driveable, and I thought it would be a disaster. Of course it's not very quick, but it's not a big problem."
Meanwhile technical director Willy Rampf confirmed that the team is not concerned about the relatively poor positions, and expects to be on the heels of McLaren and Ferrari.
"Robert was not in qualifying trim at the end. I think other drivers did their qualifying runs much later, but we were really concentrating on race preparation today. Qualifying is Saturday!"
