Scrutineering is an old tradition for the Le Mans 24 hours. Held in the town's center, a massive number of fans come out to see the new cars, listen to the public driver interviews, and to have a beer with friends as the week of events, culminating in the race itself, are kicked off.
The new Peugeot Sport team held the majority of the crowd's interests-the patriotic effort touched almost everyone as people pushed and forced their way to get a close up shot of the cars. The Corvette Racing team also made a strong showing, wearing special Corvette-themed Hawaiian shirts that had fans asking where they could buy their own.
As much of an event as it is, Scrutineering isn't so much an event to cover as a news source, but more of an experience to feel and digest.
Here are few photos in a Scrutineering Gallery to enjoy and to get a feel for the attractions of the day. There's also a Pit Lane Gallery of the track and handful of interesting cars that stayed at the track with an eye to visit Scrutineering on Tuesday.
