Tony Kanaan has replaced Danica Patrick in Andretti Green Racing's lineup for the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, team officials announced Monday. Kanaan, Dario Franchitti and Bryan Herta will drive the No. 26 XM Satellite Radio Acura LMP2 for the race March 17 at Sebring International Raceway. Previously, the plan had been to team Patrick with Franchitti and Herta.
"Dario, Tony and Bryan have a long history together and have a great chemistry together, which should be beneficial to us as we prepare for the Twelve Hours of Sebring," AGR CEO Kim Green said in a statement. "Our program is coming along nicely."
Herta will remain as the team's full-time driver
AGR began testing its IRL Indy Pro Series car with Jaime Camara on Monday at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The team's four IndyCar Series drivers Dario Franchitti, Marco Andretti, Kanaan and Patrick will join testing tomorrow and Thursday on the Homestead-Miami oval.
This is the team's and Acura's first venture into ALMS racing. AGR co-owner Michael Andretti recently announced that he will return to the Indianapolis 500 in May. Andretti finished third behind Marco in last year's race.
