SPEED’S JOE TRIPP SAYS, “MY SPEED TAKES OUR ALREADY ACTIVE ONLINE COMMUNITY TO ANOTHER LEVEL ENTIRELY…”

SPEEDtv.com, the online motorsports authority, has officially launched its new social networking property known as, MY SPEED. As with all entities associated with SPEED and SPEEDtv.com, MY SPEED will be devoted to the passionate fans who celebrate motorcycles, motorsports and the automotive lifestyle.

MY SPEED will feature such social networking tools as customizable personal profiles, uploading and sharing personal video, photographs, commentary blogs, status share, friendship additions, interest groups, along with new message board and chat options. Also available will be free enhanced membership for SPEED Fanatics, where users have the ability to personalize areas of interest including their favorite SPEED programming, online breaking news and/or commentary.

“We really wanted a more engaging experience for the SPEED viewer and SPEEDtv.com user,” said Kevin Annison, SPEED VP of Digital Media. “We also wanted to meet the expectations our audience has for networking with all the people that share the same passions they do.

“Future expansion of the community will also include integration with Facebook, MySpace and Twitter accounts,” Annison continued. “We’ll also be looking at sponsorship opportunities to
develop online communities around unique SPEED properties like NASCAR RaceDay and Formula One.”

As the site develops, many of SPEED’s on-air and online personalities also will be a part of the social network. Many of them will have regular blogs, providing exclusive commentary, up-to-date content and behind-the-scenes information from around the industry.

MY SPEED takes our already active online community to another level entirely – offering up social networking features that have become mainstream,” said Joe Tripp, SPEED Director of Interactive Operations. “SPEED fans will be able to connect, contribute and customize their experience like never before.
