Tune into SPEED for live flag-to-flag coverage of the Lipton Tea 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series race, Friday night at 7:30 p.m. ET and stay tuned to SPEEDtv.com for more news and post-race coverage.

Ten races into the NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule for 2008, Clint Bowyer leads defending series champ Carl Edwards by just 27 points as the field rolls into Richmond International Raceway for Friday night’s Lipton Tea 250, which will be televised live on SPEED.

But the real question will be, can the all-conquering Joe Gibbs Racing Toyotas be stopped, especially given that RIR is driver Denny Hamlin’s home track? JGR has rotated drivers in its No. 18 and 20 Nationwide Series races so far this year, to devastating result, at least in terms of the competition.

In the first 10 races of the 2008 Nationwide schedule, JGR drivers Tony Stewart and Kyle Busch each has three victories, while
no other driver in the series has won more than once. The JGR pilots have won the last four consecutive Nationwide races and have four poles, to boot.

And an even more staggering figure of domination is in laps led: The JGR No. 18 and 20 Camrys have combined to lead 1,015 of the 1,665 laps run so far this season, a full 61 percent of laps run all year long. No wonder Hamlin is champing at the bit to drive the No. 20 car Friday night.

“We try to put mostly short tracks on my Nationwide Series schedule when I’m running for Joe Gibbs Racing and I’m really looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of the No. 20 Z-Line Designs car at my hometown track,” said Hamlin, who grew up just 15 minutes away from RIR. “The JGR cars have been so good this year. I’m really excited about getting my turn to drive for (crew chief) Dave Rogers and the guys this weekend.”
