In spite of the Depression, things were good for Bentley at the dawn of the 1930s. Britain's sporting luxury marque was kicking booty at Le Mans, and rich playboys the world over wanted Bentleys. The naturally aspirated 4.5-liter models were good performers, but Bentley developed a supercharged version to make sure nobody got the jump on their supremacy. These are massive cars build in numerous body styles, some wrapped in cloth bodywork to minimize weight. Most of the enthusiasts who love these cars drive them hard and often. Many look a bit ragged around the edges, because they're being loved and enjoyed. Rolls-Royce bought the company in 1931, so many consider these the best, and last, pure prewar Bentleys.
